FARMINGTON — Beginning in just four days, Lagoon will open its gates for the start of its upcoming spring season.

The park will open Saturday, April 7, for just weekends until the summer season begins June 1. Spring season hours will be 10 a.m-7 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays.

The “Terroride” and “Dracula's Castle” will both be refashioned for the 2007 season. As the only dark rides at Lagoon, they will now offer new frights, spooks and other worldly creatures to send chills down your spine.

The “Tidal Wave,” which was disassembled in the winter of 2006, will be refurbished and have a brand new paint job. Rebuilding the ride from the ground up, Lagoon’s Maintenance staff is working to have the renovated Tidal Wave ready for opening day.

Attendants will be informed of which rides are either open or closed at the front entrance to the park. However, Lagoon’s brand new futuristic rollercoaster “Wicked” will reportedly not be open to the public until June or July.

The park will be accessible to the entire public upon its opening April 7, and customers can bring in a can of Coke and get $5 off on tickets to enter the park or for the “Skycoaster.” Lagoon’s “Bounce-back” day will also be announced soon.

Lagoon also offers a series of group ticketing plans for the season. These plans include the Group Deal, which saves $6.45 on regular ride passports, the Great Group Deal, which saves $8.95 on regular ride passports and the Great Meal Deal, which saves $12 on regular ride passports. Special season passports will also be made available.

For further information including summer season hours, call Lagoon at 451-8000 or visit www.lagoonpark.com. Lagoon is located at 375 N. Lagoon Dr. in Farmington.
